Fortune at the Seams
Crafted from re-dyed silk offcuts, this piece would not have been possible without the generosity of Law Design Studio, Derek Rose, Gingerlily, and De Gournay. Their kind donations of silk offcuts allowed me to transform what would have been waste into something meaningful and enduring.
This scarf celebrates the beauty that emerges from unexpected connections - a reflection of the good fortune that blossoms through fateful meetings and shared purpose. Like the
seams that hold the silk panels together, each contribution becomes part of a greater whole. Some panels remain intentionally plain to honour the understated elegance of silk, while others are adorned with patterns drawn from the architecture of my family’s ancestral hall - echoing stories of tradition, strength, and continuity.
As the final piece in my collection, this scarf is a closing gesture of gratitude and reverence - a talisman of fortune stitched together with memory, collaboration, and care.
